ODTK 6.4.1 Release Notes

ODTK 6.4.1 was a maintenance release with a couple of small bug fixes that added a new plugin point.

Central Bodies switched to DE ephemeris

ODTK is now using the JPL DE430 ephemeris for the central body locations instead of the DE421 ephemeris.

Atmospheric density

We've added a new atmospheric density plugin point. This allows users to integrate their own density models into ODTK.

The file format for the atmospheric global density corrections has been tweaked to allow some additional options for using normalized or unnormalized coefficients and the flexibility of specifying a date format.

Resolved issues and additional enhancements

New Capabilities and Resolved Issues in ODTK 6.4.1
Tracking No. Description
82041 The format for global atmospheric density correction data (*gdc) has been updated.
82992 If the scenario has all available GNSS Constellation types created and you try to add another constellation, it will be given a default name "GPS" without checking if a "GPS" constellation already exists and it overwrites it if it does. This was fixed by giving the newly created constellations generic names "GNSSxx."
83108 Covariance epochs written by STK in CCSDS v2 .oem file in case covariance is included with exported ephemeris has been fixed.
83427 Custom measurement providers couldn't return DimensionLess / Unitless observations to ODTK. For example, Directional cosines). This was fixed by explicitly adding to ODTK "Unitless" dimension with "Unitless" default unit.
83480 An atmospheric density model plugin has been added. This plugin point is similar to the existing drag model and light reflection model plugin points and allows a user provided atmospheric density model to be integrated with ODTK.
83861 An error in the accounting of mass changes after backwards propagation over a maneuver which was within the filter analysis interval but prior to the epoch of the satellite initial conditions have been corrected. The prior error resulting in the mass of the satellite after the maneuver when running in the forward direction being too small.
83874 The measurement models associated with the Deep Space Network have been updated to account for the position of the antenna on the spacecraft during measurement processing. Previously, all DSN measurements were assumed to reference the center of mass of the spacecraft. This is mainly important for spacecraft with spinning attitude where the antenna is located offset from the spin axis.
84066 An error in the application of the annual and diurnal aberration correction to optical observations (RA/DEC) has been corrected. This also affects space based RA/DEC observations. This will only affect customers who have been processing uncorrected observations and had the facility or satellite tracker object configured to apply the either of the aberration corrections.
84103 Fixed an issue with scaling the measurement time bias updates when processing RA/DEC measurements on a facility while solving for the time bias.
