This page contains help on two features of the ODTK Report Viewer: the toolbar and drill down views. For more in depth information on the Report Viewer's capabilities, see Crystal Reports Help.
The Report Viewer toolbar gives you access to several options that enhance the value and ease of use of the reports that you generate:
Report Viewer Toolbar
|Button or Field||Description|
Closes the current drill down view .
Prints the report on the selected printer with the selected settings.
Exports the report as a text file, values with various separators including CSV, and several other popular formats including PDF, Word, Excel, and XML. (Ssee note, below).
Toggles between displaying and hiding the group tree, which is used for navigating among sections of the report.
Lets you select the size of the report as displayed on your monitor.
Moves to the first page of the report.
Moves to the previous page of the report.
Displays the current page number. You can move directly to a given page by typing it in and pressing the Enter key.
Moves to the next page of the report.
Moves to the last page of the report.
Stops data from being read into the report. This avoids long waits in cases where there is a large quantity of data and you decide you would prefer to abandon the current report and go back and thin or limit the input.
Launches a full text search window.
NOTE: Using the Text option for exporting a report is inadvisable due to truncation of the actual text. For text only output, it is recommended that you use the Comma or Tab separated value export option, or one of the 'Record style' options. If you want to attempt to use the Text option, it is recommended that you: (1) design the report not to contain any groups (e.g. by Satellite), and (2) if an Export to Text dialog displays after you select the Text option, set the user-defined number of characters per inch to 12.
For certain objects of interest, e.g. satellites or facilities, drill down views are available. These are subreports limited to data pertaining to the given object. To create a drill down view, move the cursor over the name of the object. When the cursor changes to a , double-click the left mouse button to generate the new view. The drill down view will appear under a tab labeled with the name of the object of interest.
