Coverage Tool Method
This is a method unique to inserting a Coverage Definition object into a scenario. Using the Coverage Tool method enables you to do the following:
- Create a Coverage Definition object with your specifications of regions, assets, grid points, and graphics settings
- Create a Figure of Merit object with your specification of type and accompanying type specifications
To complete the process, specify the following parameters:
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
Name | Enter any name for your Coverage Definition object. |
Interval |
Specify the interval or start and stop times for the coverage analysis period. For more information on these options, see the STK Time topic. |
Regions |
Using the drop-down menu, choose from one of the options. See the Custom Regions section of the Defining a Coverage Grid topic for descriptions and details about these options. |
Check for holes | If you select this check box, the grid generator will not produce grid points inside any holes in the regions in the Selected Regions list. |
Assets | The Coverage Tool method automatically populates this field with all possible objects from the Object Browser. Double-click an object to assign it (make it active) to a coverage area. Double-click an assigned object to remove its active status. |
Grid Point Granularity |
Use the drop-down menu to choose an option. See Defining the grid for available options. For the selected option, enter an appropriate value. |
FOM Definition | Use the Type drop-down menu to choose a figure of merit. See the Figures of Merit topic for a list of options and their descriptions. Specify the parameters, if any, for the option you selected. |
Show Graphics | Select this check box to have STK display the Coverage Definition object in the 3D Graphics window. Click the Static radio button to have STK display an unchanging figure-of-merit image, or click the Animation radio button to have STK display a figure-of-merit image that changes over time. |
Level Attributes | When you select the Show Graphics check box, you can then choose the Ramp Start and Ramp End colors to visually distinguish the figure-of-merit levels. Also enter a value for Number of Levels to specify how many levels you wish to distinguish. |
