Display Times

Use this page to specify the time intervals during which the object graphics are displayed.

The time intervals only apply to the graphical display of the object; they do not affect access computations.

Display Status

Display Status Description
Always Off Object graphics never display.
Always On Object graphics always display, regardless of the intervals specified in the times list.
During Access Object graphics display only during access to specified objects.
During Chain Access Object graphics display only when the object is part of a computed chain and part of a chain strand that has valid access for the current animation time.
Use Intervals The start and stop times specified in the list are used as the time intervals during which object graphics display. When Use Intervals is selected, the table in the middle of the Display Times page contains a summary of the start and stop times for each period during which the selected object's graphics will be displayed. The intervals list provides an easy reference which outlines basic information. You can add, load, import, change, and remove display times.
Use Time Component

Click Select... and create or select a Time Component from the Select Time Intervals window. The selected object's graphics will be displayed during the selected time component's start and stop times. Change the display option from Time Components to Use Intervals to edit or remove the time component's start and stop times.

Add Display Times

  1. Click Add to add Start and Stop times for a display period.
  2. Double-click the Start value and enter the desired start time.
  3. Double-click the Stop value and enter the desired end time.
  4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 to define each display period.
  5. Click OK or Apply to save your changes.

Load Display Times

To load interval data from an external file, click Load... and choose an interval list file (*.int). Interval times in the file are then used as the display times for the graphics.

Import Display Times

To import STK Analysis Workbench Time Tool interval component data, click Import... and select or create a time interval component. The imported component's interval times are then used as the display times for the graphics.

Change Display Times

  1. Select the display interval line that you want to change.
  2. Double-click the value that you want to change and enter the desired date and time.
  3. Click OK or Apply to save your changes.

Remove Display Times

  1. Select the display interval line that you want to delete.
  2. Click Remove.
  3. Click OK or Apply to save your changes.

You can remove items in the intervals list individually or as a group. If you want all levels displaying in the 2D Graphics window to be removed, use Remove All.

Select Access Objects

  1. Click Select Access Objects....
  2. Select an object from the Available Objects list and click to add it to the Selected Objects list.
  3. Repeat Step 2 for each object you want to add to the Selected Objects list.
  4. Click OK to return to the Display Times page.
  5. Click OK or Apply to save your changes.

After an object is added to the list of selected objects, STK calculates access from the original object to the selected object and displays the original object only during those access times.

Deconflict

Use the Deconflict options to resolve interval overlaps. You can choose whether the time intervals should be "deconflicted," or modified so that time periods do not overlap.

Option Description
Automatic STK automatically modifies all time intervals during which an overlap occurs so that the intervals are further segmented to avoid overlap.
Manual When an overlap occurs in the time interval list, an Acknowledge window appears when you click OK or Apply to alert you to the fact that the overlap exists. It is then your decision whether to set the Deconflict field to Automatic so that the overlap is fixed, change the time intervals yourself by modifying the appropriate entries in the list box, or ignore the message and continue.
None No changes are made to time interval overlaps.

Load...

If the Display Status is Use Intervals, you can also load start and stop times representing display time intervals from an external file. When you load a predefined list of display times, the time intervals are automatically added to the intervals list. Interval times in the file are then used as the display times for the selected object.

Use the following steps as a guideline for adding display intervals contained in a file:

  1. Click Load....
  2. When the file selection window appears, browse to the interval list file (*.int) you want to use.
  3. Click Open to return to the Display Times page and load the time intervals specified in the file to the intervals list.
  4. Click OK or Apply to save your changes.
