Update Database Files

Default Databases

Open your scenario properties and go to the Basic > Database page. Database properties enable you to set the defaults for certain objects; see Using Object Databases. You can specify a stock STK database or one of your own that meets STK's format requirements.

Use the Database Type option to select the type of database for which you wish to set defaults. The types are:

  • City
  • Facility
  • Satellite
  • Star

Then use the Database Defaults and Auxiliary Database sections as described below.

Database Defaults (City, Facility, Satellite, Star)

In the Database Defaults area, select the database to designate as the default.

  • For City, Facility, and Satellite: In the Database text box, enter the name of the database to be used and the directory in which it is located or click to browse to and select a database file.
  • For Star: Use the Star Collection selector to select a default star collection. Star collections are defined by specifying a set of constraints on the contents of a star catalog. If an appropriate star collection is not available, click Create… to create a new collection with the desired set of constraints and star catalog.

Auxiliary Database (City, Facility, Satellite)

If you want to use a database in addition to the one specified in the Database Defaults area, select the Use auxiliary database check box and enter the database name and location or click to browse to and select a file. The database must conform to the appropriate database format. Click the links below for help on specific database file formats:
