General Tab

Priority Textbox

The priority textbox allows you to assign a priority task. In the textbox, STK Scheduler will accept only numbers that fall within the priority range. Alternatively, the and buttons may be used to select the desired priority. The default priority of a newly created task will be the center of the defined schedule task priority range.

The resource priority scale and convention may be defined using the Schedule Properties From. See Setting Schedule File Parameters.

Scheduling Preference Combo box

The scheduling preference combo box contains a series of option that allows you to specify generally when, within the scheduling period, the task should be assigned. Choosing one of these options does not guarantee when the task will be assigned. The actual assigned time will depend on the availability times of each required resource, the scheduling times of the task, and STK report times (if applicable). If, after all of these assignment constraints are applied, there is still flexibility as to when the task could be assigned, STK Scheduler will consider the Scheduling Preference prior to assigning times to the task.

STK Scheduler uses the preference selection to calculate the position ranking of each of the task's timeslots. The position ranking is used in the Figure of Merit calculation.

The scheduling period may be defined using the Schedule Properties Form See Setting Schedule File Parameter.

No Preference

The no preference option button allows you to indicate there is no preferred time within the scheduling period to assign a task.

Early

The early option button allows you to indicate a preference to assign a task early in the scheduling period.

Middle

The middle option button allows you to indicate a preference to assign a task in the middle of the schedule period.

Late

The late option allows you to indicate a preference to assign a task late in the scheduling period.

Timeslot Preference Combo box

The timeslot preference combo box contains a series of option that allows you to specify generally when, within the timeslot, the task should be assigned. Choosing one of these options does not guarantee when the task will be assigned. The actual time will depend on the availability times of each require resource, the scheduling times of the task, and STK report times (if applicable). If after all of these assignment constraints are applied, these is still flexibility as to when the task could be assigned, STK Scheduler will consider the Timeslot Preference prior to assigning times to task.

The preferred start time may be defined using the Timeslot Definition Form. See Timeslot Definition Form.

Early

The early option allows you to indicate a preference to assign tasks early in the scheduling timeslots.

Middle

The middle option allows you to indicate a preference to assign tasks in the middle of the scheduling timeslots.

Late

The late option allows you to indicate a preference to assign tasks late in the scheduling timeslots.

Task Group Frame

The task groups frame contains the controls necessary to assign tasks to existing task group(s). A task group is a concept provided to help you quickly sort through large numbers of tasks. STK Scheduler does not require a task to be associated with a task group. The Task Group Editor can be accessed via the Task Group Editor Button.

Available Groups Listbox (Optional)

The available groups listbox contains a list of all the groups with which a task may be associated.

Included Groups Listbox (Optional)

The included groups listbox contains a list of all the groups with which a task is associated.
