Properties for the 3D Graphics Window - Object Lines
Use to draw lines that connect objects in the 3D Graphics window. The lines created are strictly graphical representations and have no effect on computations in STK. This feature is useful for formation visualization or other instances when you need only a graphical display of the relationship between objects in a scenario as animation progresses.
To display a line between two objects, select a From object and a To object and click the right arrow. The connecting line for the object pair is added to the table.
From Object. List of objects where the graphical line can start.
To Object. List of objects where the graphical line can end. If the From object and/or To object is an MTO object, you must also select the track number from the Select Line Data window.
Each connecting line has the following attributes:
From/To. Display fields. List of the selected object pairs.
Show. If selected, displays the connecting line in the 3D Graphics window.
Color. Color of the connecting line. To change the line color, double-click the color and select the down arrow.
Display Options
Width. The width of the line.
Display Times button. Opens the Display Times window. Use to control the time intervals during which the line is displayed.
Draw Line as a Great Arc. If selected, the line will be drawn as a great arc, preventing it from intersecting the central body. This will create a line that stays on the surface of the central body, rather than going through it in a straight line.
The great arc line will display on the surface if the two objects are located on the surface; it will not display on the surface is one of the objects is located off the ground.
Surface Line. If Draw on Terrain when Available is selected on the Scenario properties page and "Draw Line as a Great Arc" is selected on this page, selecting this option will draw the object line on terrain.
If one or both of the objects are above the ground, the object line will not go over any terrain that may be in the way (for example, if a ground vehicle and an airplane have a hill in the way, the object line will cut through the hill even though all three options are selected).
