Atmosphere (Comm & Radar)
Control the use of atmospheric models (Deprecated Command)
Syntax
Atmosphere <ObjectPath> {AtmosphericModel}
ATTENTION: THIS COMMAND IS DEPRECATED and has been replaced by:
AtmosphereDescription
This command was deprecated in STK 9, it should no longer be used. This command has been replaced by the Atmosphere command.
The Comm Connect commands were enhanced in STK 9 to make use of attributes and to simplify the format required to use these commands. For more information on using the new format with the Atmosphere command, see Transitioning to the New Atmosphere Connect Format.
The Atmosphere Connect command allows you to apply atmospheric models to Comm and Radar analyses. The Atmosphere command specifies the local surface atmospheric conditions used by the gaseous absorption and rain models.
Valid objects for <ObjectPath> are Facilities, Targets, GroundVehicles, Ships, Aircraft, LaunchVehicles and Missiles.
Satellites are not valid objects for the Atmosphere command.
{AtmosphericModel} | Description |
---|---|
RainModel {OverrideOn | OverrideOff} [<Height> <Rate> <Temperature>] | <Height> is entered in meters and <Rate> in mm/hr. <Temperature> is entered in degrees C, valid values are -100.0 to 100.0. |
Absorption {InheritOn | InheritOff} ["{ModelType}" <Parameters>] | Valid values for "{ModelType}" <Parameters> are:
Tirem 3.10 and Tirem 3.16 have been deprecated in STK 10.1. <Vapor> is entered in g/m^3. Valid values are 0.0 to 100.0. <Temperature> is entered in degrees C. Valid values are -100.0 to 100.0. <Altitude> is entered in Connect distance units, valid values are 0.0 to 20.0 km. <Humidity> is entered in g/m^3. Valid values are 0.0 to 110.0. <Conductivity> is entered in Siemens per meter (S/m). Valid values are 0.00001 to 100.0. <Refractivity> is unitless. Valid values are 200.0 to 450.0. <Permittivity> is unitless. Valid values are 0.0 to 100.0. The {ModelType} "Tirem 3.10" and "Tirem 3.16" are only available if you have a TIREM license. Valid values for "{ModelType}" are case-sensitive and are obtained from registered RF absorption definitions. |
Example
To use the atmospheric rain model in calculations for the Perth facility:
Atmosphere */Facility/Perth RainModel OverrideOn 28.0 29.0 30.0
To use the Simple Satcom absorption model in calculations for the Perth facility:
Atmosphere */Facility/Perth Absorption InheritOff "Simple Satcom" 8.34 17.34
