RF Radar Clutter
This page enables you to specify a clutter map. The clutter map is responsible for determining the clutter coefficient (RCS) for each of the clutter points identified by the clutter geometry. By default, the constant coefficient clutter map is shipped with STK Radar and simply sets the clutter coefficient to a user-selected value.
Setting RF Radar Clutter at the Scenario Level
The advantage of being able to set a clutter map at the Scenario level is that it is less time consuming than setting it for each potential target individually.
Setting RF Radar Clutter on the Target Object
By default, the target inherits the clutter map settings from the scenario level, but you can override the clutter map for each individual target.Loading the Default Radar Advanced Environment (RAE) Database
To load the default RAE database, select RAE for the Clutter Map and Global 4 km from the Database field. The Global 4 km RAE database contains worldwide data with 4 km resolution on surface normal angles as well as overland vs. over water for use in analyzing and displaying clutter phenomena.
To enable speckle computation, select Speckle.
Loading a User-defined RAE Configuration File
The default RAE configuration file (raedb.cfg) is located in the <STK Install Folder>/STKData/RAE. If you want to use a user-modified RAE configuration file, place it in your user Config/RAE folder or the AllUsers/STKData/RAE folder. If you are changing the reference to the .rae file, it must have a fully qualified path.
Loading a User-defined COM Plugin
If a Clutter Map COM plugin exists on your machine and is properly registered, it will be selectable from the Clutter Map drop-down list. For more information, see 'Plugin Points For COM-based Engine Plugins" and "Engine Plugin Registration" topics in the STK Programming Interface help, which is accessible from the Help menu.
