To install STK, you must be an administrator or have elevated permission for the computer on which you will install STK.

STK 12.7 is the last release to support Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012, and Windows Server 2012 R2.
Hardware requirements

Use a graphics card that supports OpenGL 4.5.

| Network Hardware | The STK application does not require a network adapter, but AGI recommends one. Online operations will not be available without one. |
The STK application can use multiple cores in a computer to improve performance for many computations. Refer to the STK Parallel Computing Capability Overview topic for the list of computations you can perform in parallel using multiprocessing.

Maximizing performance
There are many mission-related factors that impact STK's processing performance for a given scenario, including the following major factors:
- The number of objects in your scenario
- The complexity of your analysis calculations
- The duration of your analysis period
- Your choice of graphics resolution level

Virtual environments
You can run STK with accelerated graphics in a virtual environment when it is configured on a computer that meets additional hardware and software requirements. Contact AGI Technical Support.

System requirements for previous versions
If you are running a version of STK that is older than STK12.10, you can still find the system requirements for your version. In your STK installation media (download folder or disk), find and open the "install.chm" file and look for the System Requirements topic in there. For more recent versions of STK, the "install.chm" file is in Support Files > Help.
