Technical Issues Corrected in STK 12.6
| Issue Id | Release Note | Capability |
|---|---|---|
Canceling Access while it is computing the TerrainMask constraint, when the Terrain Server is used to perform the computation, now returns no access intervals. Previously, if the job were cancelled, the constraint would just be ignored and the access results would be computed as if the TerrainMask constraint were turned off. | Access
The determination of the availability of objects, when used in Access and 1PtAccess computations, has been improved. Specifically, in the case of RF interference processing, the availability of the interfering object is better determined so that when the object is not available it can no longer interfere. | Access
The Scheduled Vector has been improved by adding the ability to return the actual value of the On/Off Schedule vectors and not just the unit vector along their directions. | Analysis Workbench
Using a repeat pattern in a sensor pointing file will now correctly update the pointing when the reference frame for the file uses time-varying axes. | Analysis Workbench
The tooltips for AWB Plugins now display a more informative representation of the registered configuration attributes, truncated to a size appropriate for a tooltip when the textual information is large. | Analysis Workbench
Analysis Workbench Interval List data providers now have the ability to calculate the total of the duration. | Analysis Workbench
STK no longer crashes when performing any action from the context menu and then immediately closing Analysis Workbench. | Analysis Workbench
The ReportCreate Connect command now properly handles the 'Interval List' parameter. | Analysis Workbench
The VGT Vector type called "ToStar" has been fixed to correctly compute the location of the specified star to include the effects of stellar aberration. Previously, the stellar aberration was included only when the velocity was also requested, not when requesting just the direction to the star. | Analysis Workbench
Previously, upon load of a saved access where an object had a temporal constraint using explicit times or a set of files, any Analysis Worbench (AWB) components saved with that Access were not loaded and were lost. Now, the AWB components are properly loaded. | Analysis Workbench
The VectorToolExport Connect command has been fixed. Previously, it would only create an empty blank file. | Analysis Workbench
Analyzer now resets the Walker constellation processing artifacts after an analysis run, resetting the STK scenario to the state it was before the Walker analysis study. | Analyzer
Fixed an issue with computing Deck Access from a Facility. | Analyzer
Accesses with no access intervals now show up in the Analyzer STK Objects tree. | Analyzer
Analyzer has been corrected to handle study input and output properties on non-US PC Operating systems. | Analyzer
Analyzer now accounts for all availability time periods for an STK object. | Analyzer
Analyzer now determines availability times for a Data Provider object by searching related parent objects, eliminating RunWithoutComputingAccess errors. | Analyzer
Analyzer errors related to displaying the HPOP propagator have been corrected. | Analyzer
When Astrogator Output variables are saved with an old STK scenario, there is a chance that Analyzer will hang for a long time trying to validate them. To solve this problem, you must delete the PXC file in the scenario directory and reselect the Astrogator output variables for the study. Then you can save the scenario and reload it without Analyzer hanging. | Analyzer
Analyzer will now accept STK Analyzer previous versions of scenarios that have saved Astrogator Output Variables in them. All variables are validated by STK Analyzer at startup. | Analyzer
Fixed an issue where Astrogator was using the prior run's attitude when calculating a thrust vector specified in body frame coordinates. | Astrogator
Fixed an issue in the Lambert Search Profile where it would claim that it did not converge, despite there existing valid solutions in the input range of times. | Astrogator
The Delta-V option has been removed from the list of available joining and separation conditions for a Follow segment as well as from the list of available stopping conditions for a Hold segment, since this option did not make sense in these contexts. | Astrogator
The input fields for Fuel Mass and Maximum Fuel Mass on the Astrogator Initial State, Fuel Tank properties panel have been reordered to facilitate a more natural input validation workflow. | Astrogator
B-plane vectors were incorrectly drawn relative to the satellite's assigned central body, rather than the central body defined in the B-plane Template. This issue has been fixed. | Astrogator
Corrects an error that would cause a good NPlate/Variable Area drag file not to reload after attempting to load an improperly formatted NPlate/Variable Area drag file in Astrogator. Attempting to load an improperly formatted file through Connect will also now NACK appropriately. | Astrogator
An issue was corrected where Astrogator NPlate Drag, using "solar panel" plates, was producing incorrect results. | Astrogator
Fixed a memory corruption issue with IPOPT. This may result in optimizations terminating with an error instead of allowing the bad state. | Astrogator
B-pane graphics for a satellite were incorrectly displaying in all scenes, ignoring the setting to limit display to a particular 3D Graphics window. This issue has been fixed. | Astrogator
There was an issue where b-plane vectors would remain visible for satellites that were otherwise hidden in the Object Browser. This issue has been fixed. | Astrogator
Fixed an issue in the Lambert Search Profile in STK Engine on Linux that led to incorrect results when "Match Phase of Target" was set to false. This only affected Engine on Linux. | Astrogator
This change reduces flicker in Aviator Catalog Manager tree when scrolling and in the panel area when changing selection. | Aviator
Fixed a crash in the Aviator hypersonic tutorial when the VGTPoint procedure was configured. | Aviator
| 119352 |
Previous versions of the MATLAB Guidance strategies did not properly handle the specified accelerations for high and fast situations. Those versions mistakenly subtracted centripetal acceleration from the values specified for normal and horizontal load factors referenced to sea level G (9.797657 m/s^2). STK no longer performs that erroneous adjustment, which may lead to slightly different flight paths and results for high and fast situations. However, it improves the accuracy of the guidance processing. As a reminder, if the required acceleration is known in m/s^2 units, to convert that acceleration to the required load factor referenced to sea level, divide the acceleration by the above specified sea level G value. |
Aviator |
Fixed an STK object class name value in the AttitudeSegment Modify Connect command; this was preventing command execution despite the command being accepted. | Connect
The Message/ClearAllMessages Connect command now clears messages even when the Message Viewer is hidden. | Connect
STK 12.5 introduced an issue that prevented the 3D Graphics window from updating following the SubObjUnload Connect command. This issue has been fixed. | Connect
Fixed numerous controls to display correctly at higher DPI settings. | Comm/Radar
STK now properly detects invalid formats of antenna files and properly notifies the user. | Comm/Radar
STK no longer crashes when using the Spectrum Analyzer with the Multibeam Transmitter model. | CommRad
The troposcintillation propagation model has deprecated the use of the ComputeDeepFade property. The model will switch modes between shallow fade and deep fade based on the link elevation angle. Also, the model attribute previously called "FadeOutage" has been renamed to "FadeExceeded", to be consistent with the ITU-R recommendation text. Interfaces using FadeOutage will be processed for backward compatibility. | Comm/Radar
An issue in Coverage has been fixed involving the use of a Chain asset ending in a Constellation or Subset, if the Chain is set to recompute but Coverage is not yet computed. If the Constellation or Subset is subsequently edited, causing the Chain to recompute, it will notify Coverage, and now Coverage will update its assets correctly. Previously, the assets were not updated correctly causing Coverage to compute using stale data. | Coverage
| 118265 |
The altitudes computed for Coverage grid locations configured to be at a specified altitude above terrain now honor the standard policy where heights are first obtained from the set of local terrain files. STK will only use the terrain server for terrain heights if the local file query is unsuccessful and the terrain server has been enabled for analysis. Previously, if the terrain server was enabled for analysis, the heights would be obtained only from the terrain server, ignoring the set of local terrain files entirely. |
Coverage |
During load, if Coverage detects that the computation interval for the saved accesses differs from the analysis interval, which can occur when the analysis interval involves a date like Today or Tomorrow, STK no longer uses these results. Previously, STK would incorrectly report the results. You now need to recompute the accesses to see the Coverage results. | Coverage
A memory leak in the computation of FOM reports was fixed, which occurred when the CoverageDefinition uses a Satellite Collection Subset as an asset. | Coverage
An issue was fixed in Coverage's use of a Satellite Collection subset that itself uses a template object with more than one sensor. In that case, the assignment of that subset as a Coverage asset would hang STK; now, the assignment completes successfully. | Coverage
Previously, data returned using Access AER Data data providers via the Object Model could be returned in the incorrect reference frame if accesses exist in both the From/To and To/From directions. Data are now correctly returned in the reference frame of the From object based on the From/To access direction. | Data Providers
The data provider report element "Mean GHA at 0hUTC" has been renamed to "Mean GHA at 0hUT1" to more correctly describe its value as being the mean GHA angle at the start of day in the UT1 time scale. Report styles that use the older name will still be supported, but the column title in the report will be the updated name. | Data Providers
The documentation for the Angular Rate constraint has been updated to improve clarity. | Documentation
The EOIR sensor band grid no longer switches to the first band on Apply. | EOIR
This adds error checking and warnings when bad values are entered into the Quantization model that result in a QSS of zero. | EOIR
Fixed an issue with EOIR sensor's 'Detector Fill Factor' that could prevent a user from entering a valid value. | EOIR
Fixed an issue where EOIR was not properly normalizing Point Spread Functions (PSF), causing STK to report values far too low for the ensquared energy value. All custom and noncustom PSFs now normalize properly and will return correct values. | EOIR
Fixed an issue where STK could crash when trying to generate a synthetic scene with eclipsing EOIR objects and atmosphere turned on. | EOIR
The AFSPC SGP4 routine, version 7.9, is now supported as an external SGP4 routine when you provide the requisite AFSPC libraries and additional data. Contact customer support for more information. Previously, the license file could not be found because the AFSPC code only looks in the current working directory for it. | General Astro
STK now supports the AFSPC SP propagator V8 using the AFSPC SP V7 interface. Contact customer support for details on using the AFSPC SP propagator within STK. | General Astro
An issue was introduced in version 12.5 that prevented visualization of the b-plane and its corresponding Theta angle. This issue has been fixed. B-plane vector scaling has also been updated to honor settings defined in the b-plane template definition. | General Astro
The export of SPICE ephemeris for objects that store their ephemeris as a list of segments (for example, a satellite using Astrogator) has been fixed. Previously, only the first segment of ephemeris would be written to the SPICE file. | General Astro
Fixed an issue where a KML file with hidden points allowed the contents to display in the 3D window but didn't display anything in the Globe Manager GUI. | Globe Manager
Marker-style icons in shortcut menus will now scale with resolution/DPI settings. | Graphics
Fixed a problem with a Grab Globe option that caused the camera to reorient unexpectedly. | Graphics
Fixed an issue that caused 3D models in a multitrack object to randomly disappear. | Graphics
Previously, if a 3D Graphics font were set in a previous version of STK and then the scenario was opened in a later version, the font reset to its default value. Now, the previous setting is retained across STK versions. | Graphics
3D Graphics Vector properties will no longer bleed when switching colors from a second open property page. | Graphics
Fixed an issue that caused solar visualizations (Umbra Cone / Penumbra Cone / Subsolar Point / Solar Terminator) to display two or more times in the incorrect orientation. | Graphics
The SendPos.exe and SendAtt.exe example Connect executables have been removed from the bin directory as they are no longer relevant. | Install
Corrected an issue where the OM method GetCurrentUnitAbbrv() did not properly return the correct unit abbreviation when the Dimension ID is input. | Object Model
The OM IAgVORefCrdnAngle interface was missing a property for showing dihedral angle arcs. The Show DihedralAngleSupportingArcs property has been added. | Object Model
The missing eFmCrdnCondition enumeration was added to the AgEFmConstraintName enum type for the OM interface for Analysis Workbench CrdnCondtions to complete all options available in the UI. | Object Model
Fixed an issue that could occur when trying to set a unitless scalar bounds condition via the Object Model. | Object Model
An issue was fixed in the STK Object Model interface where the Noise and Frequency constraints for a receiver object were not set properly. | Object Model
Previously, setting the min/max values for a scalar bounds condition based on a unitless calc scalar via the OM could not be done since the input type of IAgQuantity did not support unitless quantities. The following methods have been added to the IAgCrdnConditionScalarBounds interface for unitless min/max support: GetMinimumUnitless, SetMinimumUnitless, SetMaximumUnitless, and SetUnitless. | Object Model
An Object Model memory leak was fixed that affected the IAgDrDataSetCollection ToArray method as well as other methods in the Python API that return arrays of strings. | Object Model
Previously, when installing the Parallel Computing Coordinator, the Ansys Licensing Client Settings were not getting added to the Start Menu folder. It now does, making it easier for the user to add or edit client settings. | Parallel Computing
Saving reports directly to the SDF would occasionally fail. This has been corrected. | STK Data Federate
Fixed an issue where saving a scenario file to the STK Data Federate (SDF) failed to include the accompanying scenario files. | STK Data Federate
The 3D vector panel will now display correctly at high DPI and on the Japanese OS. | STK General
The "Project through Crossing" option is now honored when rendering 2D sensor projections and "Show Intersections" is set to terrain. | STK General
Previously, using the Rate/Acceleration mode for the Great Arc Propagator forced the acceleration values specified on all waypoints to zero if turns are present. This has been corrected to allow acceleration to be honored for the route between turns. Turns are computed using constant velocity. | STK General
Vehicles using the GreatArc propagator with altitudes referenced to terrain now compute terrain consistently with the manner in which Facilities/Places/Targets compute terrain height. Terrain height at a location is first requested from the local terrain files, and only if unsuccessful will the terrain server be used to obtain the height, assuming the terrain server is being used for analysis. | STK General
Accented characters are now allowed in the home directory path. | STK General
Fixed an issue with OpenMP that caused very high CPU usage. | STK General

The ArrayTimes() call for the IAgCrdnEventArrayFixedTimes interface has now been fixed to provide the time array values. Previously, STK would return an empty array. | STK General
STK no longer produces false error messages when loading an attitude file that references Axes in Analysis Workbench (AWB). Previously, when an attitude file was loaded, AWB would check Axes to determine the validity of each axis. However, the check was being made before all objects had been fully loaded. So, an error message could have been reported that would be inapplicable once the scenario was fully loaded. | STK General
An issue in AdvCAT has been fixed that prevented it from computing using a satellite collection having a name containing a dash or containing a subset with a name contained a dash. | STK General
Satellite Collection objects of Custom type that use ephemeris files as the source of the entries' ephemerides now correctly load ephemeris files of any supported type. Previously, only *.e files would be loaded. | STK General
Fixed an issue with Python plugins that could cause intermittent crashes for some users. | STK General
The MOLA terrain reader now properly handles a multiword COORDINATE_SYSTEM_NAME. | STK General

A false message, indicating the step size variation in an external ephemeris file may lead to poor interpolation, is no longer reported when only one step is used by the interpolator. Previously, the message would be reported but the variation in step sizes does not lead to poor interpolation when only one step is used. | STK General
Fixed the 'Save Changes' dialog box text on Japanese OS. | User Interface
Corrected an issue where multiselect and enabling/disabling TLEs in the SGP4 properties for a satellite did not work as expected. | User Interface
