Initial Aircraft Setup

Defining the aircraft model is the first step in the process of defining a mission. To define a model, begin by selecting a base model, then customizing specific performance parameters as required to determine how the aircraft will fly different mission segments. Then edit the aircraft weights, payload, and fuel configuration.

The aircraft type currently being used for the mission is displayed in the Aircraft field. To choose a different aircraft model, click () to open the Select Aircraft window and then browse the aircraft catalogs to select an aircraft to use in the Mission. Note that basic aircraft models with a red dot () cannot be changed. They must be duplicated and then modified.

To customize specific parameters - including performance models - for the selected aircraft, click to open the Aircraft Properties window.

You can edit the aircraft's station and fuel configuration for the mission by clicking to open the Configuration window. Changes made in the window when launched using this button will be applied only to the current mission, and will not be saved to the catalog copy of the aircraft.
