Selecting an Integrator
The table below lists the numerical integrators you can use with the Attitude Simulator:
Integrator |
Description |
RKF 7(8) |
Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg integration method of the seventh order with eighth-order error control for the integration step size |
RKF 4(5) |
Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg integration method of the fourth order with fifth-order error control for the integration step size |
Burlirsch Stoer |
Integration method based on Richardson extrapolation with automatic step size control |
For the Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg integrators, you can set Relative Error and Absolute Error tolerances. You can also use minimum and maximum step sizes (i.e., the time interval between evaluations) and specify these values.
For the Burlirsch Stoer integrator, set the Relative Error tolerance and the Number of Stages (at least two).
