HFSS Design Antenna

The HFSS Design antenna is an antenna model that was generated in Ansys Electronics Desktop. You can use this antenna component for embedded HFSS antenna generation within STK.
Must have HFSS 26r1 installed and licensed.
You may use a previously generated HFSS antenna if you do not have HFSS installed. However, all of the options are grayed out.
Ansys Electronics is not installed
If someone sends you a scenario where they generated an HFSS Design Antenna, you can use the generated antenna to create reports, run analyses, etc. However, you will not be able to generate a new antenna. All options on the HFSS Design window are grayed out.
HFSS Design Parameters
The following tables describe the various parameters you can set when designing an HFSS Design Antenna:

| Design | The antenna design that corresponds with the type of HFSS Design antenna assigned to this value. |
| Design Frequency | This is the excitation frequency used for the generation of the antenna in HFSS. |
| Status | The current status of the antenna. |
| Availability | The availability of the local HFSS install. |
| Generate | This option generates the HFSS Design antenna. |
Wire Dipole

| Dipole Length | Length of the wire dipole. |
| Dipole Radius | The radius of the dipole. |
| Feed Gap | The gap between the dipole and the ground plane. |
Slot Gap
| Parameter | Description |

| Slot Length | Length of the slot. |
| Slot Width | Width of the slot. |
| Feed Offset | The distance between the feed and the centerline of the antenna. |
| Substrate Height | Height of the substrate (z-direction). |
| Substrate Dimension X | The width of the substrate, measured in parallel to the slot. |
| Substrate Dimension Y | The length of the substrate, measured in parallel to the slot. |
Wire Monopole

| Feed Gap | The gap between the monopole and the ground plane. |
| Ground Plane Width | The width of the ground plane. |
Helix Quadrifilar Short

| Helix Diameter | The diameter of the helix formed by the antenna. |
| Helix Spacing | Height of the helix divided by the number of turns; height |
| Wire Diameter | Diameter of the individual wires that make up the helix. |
| Number of Turns | The number of turns used to make the helix antenna. |
| Feed Port Height | The height above the ground plane. |
| Ground Plane X | The x measurement of the ground plane, i.e. the width. |
| Ground Plane Y | The y measurement of the ground plane, i.e. the length |
