ITU-R S731 Antenna
An antenna pattern modeled on equations given in ITU-R S.731.
This antenna uses a polar coordinate system.
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
Design Frequency | Used in computing the main-lobe gain (or beamwidth if the “Use Main-lobe Gain” is selected). For a Receiver, Transmitter or Radar, this field is read only and is obtained from the Antenna Object (for linked antennas) or from the Receiver/Transmitter/Radar (for embedded antennas). |
Main-lobe Gain | The maximum gain of the main lobe of the antenna pattern. |
Efficiency | The aperture efficiency of the antenna. This value accounts for all the losses between the incident wavefront and the output of the antenna. This field is not required by the ITU-R recommendations. Yet, it is provided for consistency with other antenna types and to help account for any antenna losses. By default, the efficiency is set to a value of 100% or zero loss. |
Diameter | Diameter of the dish. |
Use Main-Lobe Model |
The main lobe (φ ranges between the value 0 and φmin) is not defined for this antenna model. If Use Main-Lobe Model is not selected, this range of φ is modeled as a constant or flat gain at the Main-lobe Gain value. If selected, this range of φ is modeled using the ITU Radio Regulations Appendix 8 main lobe model. |
Side-lobe Mask Level | Sets the level of the side lobe mask. This value is either an absolute level or, if Relative to Mainlobe is enabled, a value that is defined relative to the maximum off the main-lobe. |
