RF Channel Modeler System Requirements
Listed below are the software and hardware requirements for the Ansys RF Channel Modeler™ plugin. For a complete description of the Ansys Systems Tool Kit® STK® application requirements, refer to the System Requirements topic.
Software requirements
Since the RF Channel Modeler plugin is a separate install from the STK application, you must have the same version of the STK application installed as the version of the RF Channel Modeler plugin.
Hardware requirements
The RF Channel Modeler plugin requires the same minimum hardware requirements as the STK application as detailed in the hardware requirements section of the System Requirements for STK topic.
However, the RF Channel Modeler plugin has additional GPU hardware requirements. For the RF Channel Modeler plugin, it is best optimized on RTX GPUs because it supports RT-core acceleration. While the RF Channel Modeler plugin might run on an NVIDIA Quadro Turing Tx000 series card, it is recommended to have an NVIDIA Quadro, Ampere, or Ada series cards such as an RTX, RTX 1, or RTX Ada series with a minimum of 16 GB of discrete video memory. We recommend 24 GB and a streaming multiprocessing count of at least 48.
In addition to the hardware requirements listed above, the RF Channel Modeler plugin requires at least one GPU available and enabled in the STK application. Before you set up your analysis configurations, look at the GPU listing and enabling on the RF Channel Modeler tab of the Preferences page, which you can select from the Edit menu. For requirements concerning your GPU, see the latest version of the GPU Accelerator Capabilities document on the Ansys Current Release Support Data page.
