Bistatic Receiver Radar

In a Bistatic operation, the transmitting and receiving antennas may be separated by a considerable distance. If you choose Bistatic, the other radars that can act as transmitters (listed together with their parent objects in the Bistatic Transmitter frame) become active. The following sections describe how to specify settings for the Bistatic Receiver Radar model.

Radar mode

Choose one of the following modes:

  • Search/Track. A Search/Track radar detects and tracks point targets.
  • SAR. A Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) achieves high resolution in the cross-range dimension by taking advantage of the motion of the vehicle carrying the radar to synthesize the effect of a large antenna aperture.
