Generating Coverage Definition Reports & Graphs
Using the Report & Graph Manager, you can generate several report and/or graph styles for the coverage definition object:
Those styles with an asterisk (*) after the style name are available as both graphs and reports.
All reports generated for a coverage definition object include summary information at the top of the report. This information includes the boundary type of the coverage area, the resolution of the grid, the number of grid points specified or calculated, a list of assigned assets and the access interval.
Access Duration
An Access Duration report or graph presents the range of duration of individual access intervals to points in the coverage grid and the percentage of access intervals that are longer or shorter than intermediate durations.
The Access Duration report provides the answer to questions such as "If I require access intervals of at least 3 minutes, what percentage of my overall access intervals could be eliminated?"
Coverage by Asset
The Coverage by Asset report summarizes the coverage provided by individual assets. For each asset, the minimum, maximum, and average percentage of the accessible coverage area at any one time as well as the cumulative percentage of accessible area is reported.
- If you are only interested in the accumulated percent coverage, you can alter the report style to remove the minimum, maximum and average percent coverage fields to improve performance.
- This report may take a while to generate.
Gap Duration
A Gap Duration report or graph presents the range of duration of individual coverage gaps to points in the coverage area and the percentage of gaps that are longer or shorter than intermediate durations.
The information in the Gap Duration report can be used to answer questions such as "What percentage of my overall coverage gaps are less than 30 seconds in duration?"
Gaps in Global Coverage
The Gaps in Global Coverage report and graph provide a summary of all time intervals during which at least one point in a coverage grid is in a coverage gap. The list consists of start and end times of the coverage gap, the duration of the gap, and the percentage of the coverage interval represented by the gap.
The Gaps in Global Coverage report is useful for cases where global coverage is normal and coverage gaps represent anomalies.
Global Coverage
The Global Coverage report and graph provide a summary of all time intervals during which every point in a coverage grid is covered. The list consists of start and end times of the coverage interval, the duration of the interval, and the percentage of the coverage interval represented by each global coverage period.
Percent Coverage
The Percent Coverage report and graph summarize the percentage of total area, as a function of time, that displays simple coverage as well as the accumulated percentage of the total area that has displayed simple coverage.
Time to Cover by Region
The Time to Cover by Region report presents a summary of the minimum, maximum and average coverage time required to achieve total coverage for each region in the coverage grid. Total coverage is defined as each point in the region receiving coverage, not necessarily at the same time. The minimum and maximum values are computed based on all possible times for a request for total coverage. The minimum value is zero if all points in a region are covered simultaneously at some time during the coverage definition interval. The maximum value represents the longest gap between coverage intervals for any of the points in the region.
Coverage by Latitude
The Coverage by Latitude report and graph summarize coverage for each latitude in the selected range (-90 degrees to 90 degrees if Global Coverage is chosen), at intervals depending on the selected resolution. The reported values for each latitude and the average value for all grid points at that latitude.
