FM Waypoints RPO Sequence

The FM Waypoints RPO sequence moves a satellite from its current position to a desired final position, which is given as relative to a target satellite. You can control the following:

  • the duration of the move
  • the maximum spacing of hops to get to the desired relative position
  • the choice of whether to stop all relative motion at the final position or not

You can use this as a perch sequence if you set the initial position equal to the final position.

The following picture shows an FM Waypoints connection between -1000m on the VBar to a position at +500m on the RBar. The transfer duration is 2 hours, and the maximum hop spacing is 5 degrees, resulting in eight total maneuvers for a total of 0.477 m/sec Delta-V.

Sequence parameters

OptionDescription
Waypoint_RadialEnter the radial offset to the target at the end of the FM Waypoints sequence.
Waypoint_InTrackEnter the in-track offset to the target at the end of the FM Waypoints sequence.
Waypoint_CrossTrackEnter the cross-track offset to the target at the end of the FM Waypoints sequence.
Waypoint_DurationEnter the duration of the FMWaypoints sequence to get from the initial position to the desired relative position.
Waypoint_MaxDegreesEnter the maximum spacecraft angle between hops for the forced motion that connects the current position to the final desired relative position.
Engine_NameEnter, as a string, the name of the finite maneuver engine model.
Maneuver_TypeSelect the type of maneuver, "Impulsive" or "Finite," from the drop-down list.
StopAtEndEnter, as a Boolean, whether to stop all relative motion at the end of the FMWaypoints sequence (True) or not (False).
