Get Info Tool

Overview

The Get Info Tool is used to return data from the 3D Graphics Window. Currently it can be used to return information about and act on STK, GIS, and RT3 objects.

Accessing and Using the Get Info Tool

You can launch the Get Info Tool from the Utilities menu or by clicking Get Info Tool on the KML or ArcGIS toolbars.

When you first launch the Get Info Tool, it will open in an undocked state. To dock it, right-click the title bar and select Dockable from the drop-down menu. Then click and hold on the title bar while moving it to a desired location within the STK workspace.

In the Get Info Window select the desired layer from the Layer drop-down list. Depending on the objects loaded in the scenario the Layer drop-down list may include STK, RT3, and/or GIS Objects. Then click Select Tool (Select) and in the 3D Globe window click an individual object or hold down the left mouse button and drag a box around the area of interest.

When selecting STK and RT3 objects the Select Tool uses a rectangular selection box. When selecting items on the GIS layer the Select Tool uses a Lat/Lon shaped selection box. A list of the selected objects will appear in the left panel. Select an item from the list of objects to view information about that object in the right panel.

You must click Select Tool each time you want to select an object or group of objects.

Other Actions with the Get Info Tool

Right-clicking an item in the list of objects will display a drop-down menu providing different options depending on the layer selected.
