File Find Settings
Through Preferences on the Edit menu, go to the File Find page to specify where STK should search for certain types of files. The STK installation provides a default set of directories for each type.
Use the dropdown menu to select the type of file for which you want to add, delete, or change the order of the file directories. You can do this for the following file types:
File Type | Description |
---|---|
3D Imagery, Terrain, and Model files | This is the external directory for your 3D Graphics window files, including imagery, terrain, analytical terrain, and models. |
Cursor Image files | These are image files that represent the shape of the mouse pointer. |
DAFIF |
These are Digital Aeronautical Flight Information File (DAFIF) files. For instructions on downloading and installing DAFIF catalogs, click here. DAFIF is restricted-access information and is not provided by AGI. If you do not already have access, you may request it from the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency. For more information, visit www.nga.mil. |
Dynamic Earth Data files | These files include Earth Orientation Parameters (EOP), Solar Flux and Geomagnetic data, and long-term solar flux predicts (for use with the Lifetime tool). |
Help and Help Index Files | You need to specify the location of the STK Help files if you change the default location of the Help files or Help Index files; otherwise, the links between the STK application and the STK Help will not work. |
Pixmap Image files | These are the image files that represent the icons that appear in the Object Browser. |
You can specify one location or a series of directories to search for the selected type of files. To add, change, and delete files, do the following:

- To delete an entry, select it and click the button .
If there are two or more directories listed for a file type, STK will search the directories in the order in which they appear in the Directories list. You can use the and buttons to change the order of the entries in the list.
