Import Shapefile options
Option |
Description |
Shapefile: |
Specifies the shapefile (must have a .shp extension) to be imported into STK. |
Shapefile Records |
Lists the individual records, according to the selected Name By option, contained in the shapefile. The Name By menu lists the first five record specifier types available in the shapefile. |
Import as Object Type: |
Use the drop-down list to specify the STK object type you want created from the records you are importing. This is only available when the shapefile contains points. Points can be imported as facilities or targets. Shapefiles with polygons or polylines are imported as area targets. |
Level of Detail |
Specify the percent of vertices to be used in the shapefile-to-area-target conversion. Decreasing the percentage will increase STK performance when importing large shapefiles. The Minimum Number of Points option will filter out shapefiles that have less than the value specified. |
Region File |
If selected, STK creates a region file that includes the objects selected in the Shapefile Records list. This can be used in coverage definitions. Enter the name of the region file in the text box.
Select Don't Create Area Targets to create a region file without also creating area targets in STK.
|
Import to: |
The shapefile is imported to the selected Central Body.
|
Create New Constellation |
If selected, STK creates a constellation that includes all of the objects selected in the Shapefile Records list.
