Elevation Angle Contours

Contour graphics allow you to define the graphical display of elevation angle contours in the 2D Graphics window. Contour levels represent the various regions of the surface that can see an object at the specified elevation angle.

Show Elevation Contours

Select Show to display contour graphics in the 2D Graphics window.

To change how contours are displayed, select Fill. Use the % Translucency text field or slide control to set the translucency of the filled area. Translucency can be adjusted from 0 to 100 percent, where 100 percent is invisible.

Use the Number of Decimal Digits option to set the precision or number of decimal places that will be displayed in the Level field.

Add Levels

  1. Select an Add Method.
  2. Enter the appropriate values in the Level Adding area.
  3. Click Add. The level will be added to the Level list in the Level Attributes area.
  4. Define the display attributes of the new level.
  5. Click OK or Apply to display the levels in the 2D Graphics window.

Add Method

Use the Add Method option to select the way that level values will be defined.

Method Description
Start, Stop, Step Generate contour values beginning with the Start value and incrementing by the Step until the Stop value is exceeded. Enter a Start contour value, a Stop value, and a Step value.
Explicit Define individual contour levels by enter the contour level in the Level field.

Define the Display of Levels

Use the options in the Level Attributes area to define the display of individual levels in the 2D Graphics window.

  1. Select a contour from the Level list in the Level Attributes area.
  2. Edit any of the following display attributes:
Attribute Description
Color Select the color of the line used to represent a selected contour level.
Line Style Select the style of the line used to represent a selected contour level in the 2D Graphics and 3D Graphics windows.
Line Width Select the width of the line used to represent a selected contour level.
Label If checked, the name of the level displays along with the contour lines.

Remove Levels

  1. Select a contour listed in the Level list.
  2. Click Remove.

Items in the Levels list can be removed individually or as a group. If you want all levels displaying in the 2D Graphics window to be removed, click Remove All.
