Managing Geometric Elements

To manage geometric elements:

  1. Select the 3D Graphics window and click on the Default toolbar.
  2. Select the Vector property page.
  3. Select one of the following:

Add Geometric Elements

To add a geometric element:

  1. Click Add....
  2. When the Add Vector Components window is displayed, select the vector or other geometric element to add from the Available list.
  3. Use the right arrow button to move elements from the Available list to the Selected list.
  4. To create user-defined geometric elements, click the Create New Component... button to launch the Create a Component window.

  5. When you finish selecting elements, click OK to return to the 3D Vector Graphics property page. The new element will be added to the Vectors table.
  6. Once an element is added, you can select it from the table and change any of its properties.

Delete Geometric Elements

To delete a geometric element:

  1. Select the geometric elements you want to remove from the table at the top of the Vector page.
  2. Click Delete.

When you delete a geometric element, it is no longer included in the table, but it can be reintroduced using the Add... button should you change your mind.

Define the Display of Geometric Elements

  1. Select the geometric element whose display options you want to change from the table at the top of the Vector page.
  2. Enable the Show option.
  3. Change any of the display options using the editable fields to the right of the table.
  4. Click Apply to see the changes in the 3D Graphics window.

Elements marked for display in the table can be modified or deleted individually or as a group. If you want all geometric elements displaying in the 3D Graphics window to have the same display properties, hold the Ctrl button on your keyboard and select the elements that you want to change using your mouse. If all of the elements in the table are marked for display, select the first element in the table and then the last while holding the shift key.
