3D Graphics Properties for Area Targets - Attributes
Use to define the 3D graphic properties for an area target.
Label
Use Max Viewing Distance. Uses the maximum viewing distance for displaying the area target label.
Max Viewing Distance. Specifies the maximum distance (distance from the viewer's eye position in 3D to the centroid) at which the area target label is displayed.
Interior
Fill. Displays the area target as a filled polygon indicating the portion of the globe that the area target covers.
If the centroid of the area target is outside the perimeter of the area target, the outside area near the centroid point is also filled. (For instance, Florida's centroid point is outside of Florida because Florida is L-shaped.) To fill just the area target in the case where the centroid point is outside of the area target, go to the Centroid properties page of the area target. Disable the Auto Compute Centroid property and enter a centroid value that is within the perimeter of the area target.
% Translucency. Use the slide control to set the translucency of the filled area. Translucency can be adjusted from 0 to 100 percent, where 100 percent is invisible.
Boundary
Show Boundary Wall. Displays the boundary for the area target as a solid or translucent wall that extends from the lower edge altitude to the upper edge altitude.
Upper Edge/Lower Edge. Specifies the top altitude and bottom altitude of the boundary wall. You can reference the altitude from:
- The terrain (Height from Terrain). Available for all central bodies.
- Mean sea level (Height from MSL). Available only for Earth.
- Central body's reference ellipsoid (Ellipsoid or WGS84 Ellipsoid). Ellipsoid is valid for central bodies other than Earth and WGS84 ellipsoid is valid only for the Earth central body.
The terrain data files available in this scenario for visualization and analysis are listed on the Terrain properties page.
Use Wall Translucency. Displays the boundary wall at the translucency percentage specified. Use the slide control to set the translucency of the boundary wall. Translucency can be adjusted from 0 to 100 percent, where 100 percent is invisible.
Use Line Translucency. Displays the lines at the top and bottom edges of the boundary wall at the translucency percentage specified. Use the slide control to set the translucency of the line. Translucency can be adjusted from 0 to 100 percent, where 100 percent is invisible.
Save Terrain for Faster Loading. This option is enabled if you select Terrain as the Upper or Lower Edge value. When selected, the terrain is saved, decreasing load time.
