3D Graphics Properties for STK Objects - Covariance

Use to define the graphical display of a 3D ellipsoid.

To display an ellipsoid, you need to load covariance data from an external ephemeris file (*.e).

Position Ellipsoid

Use to characterize uncertainty in position by displaying a 3D ellipsoid that represents the surface of equal probability density.

Basic

Indicates you are setting the basic graphics properties instead of the intervals graphics properties.

Show. If selected, you can set the following attributes.

Color. The color of the lines of the ellipsoid.

Line Width. The width of the lines of the ellipsoid.

% Translucency. Use the slide control to set the translucency of the lines that make up the ellipsoid. Translucency can be adjusted from 0 to 100 percent, where 100 percent is invisible.

Intervals

Indicates you are setting the intervals graphics properties instead of the basic graphics properties.

Start. The time at which the interval begins and the graphics defined here display in the 3D Graphics window. STK uses the Default Attributes values if there is an interval of time not covered by the intervals you specified.

Stop. The time at which the interval ends.

Show. If selected, the object is displayed during the selected time using the graphics properties set here. If not selected, the object does not display in the 3D Graphics window during the selected interval.

Color. The color of the lines of the ellipsoid.

Width. The width of the lines of the ellipsoid.

% Translucency. The translucency of the lines that make up the ellipsoid. Translucency can be 0 to 100 percent, where 100 percent is invisible.

Add button. Click to add a covariance interval to the table.

Load button. Click to use interval data from an external file. Interval times in the external file are then used as the display times for the object.

Import button. Click to import STK Analysis Workbench Time Tool interval component data. Interval times in the interval component are then used as the display times for the object.

Remove button. Click to remove the selected time period from the Intervals table.

Remove All button. Click to remove all the intervals from the Intervals table.

Sigma Scale

Use to change the size of the ellipsoid used to characterize uncertainty.

Probability. Uses the specified percentage of probability encompassed by the ellipsoid to indirectly size the ellipsoid. A probability of 95 percent corresponds to a scale of 2.795.

Scale. Uses the specified scale value to directly size the ellipsoid. A scale of 1 means that the position covariance matrix is used without change.

Use curvilinear coordinates

Displays position covariance using curvilinear coordinates.

Velocity Ellipsoid

Use to characterize uncertainty in velocity by displaying a 3D ellipsoid that represents the surface of equal probability density.

Remove All button. Click to remove all the intervals from the Intervals table.

Scale

Uses the specified scale value to directly size the ellipsoid. A scale of 1 means that the velocity covariance matrix is used without change.

Use curvilinear coordinates

Displays velocity covariance using curvilinear coordinates.
