TETK Preferences
You can define your data directories, define your default unit preferences, and enable data caching by changing various settings in TETK.
Data Drop Out
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Minimum Duration |
The dropout duration threshold in seconds. This duration is used to determine if a data dropout has occurred. The default value of 3 seconds is typically acceptable for data files with higher sampling rates (e.g. 1Hz or higher) but should be adjusted if your data has larger time steps. For example, if you have satellite data with updates only once per minute, you should adjust this number upward. STK interpolates values between timestamps when data updates fall within this duration and will not interpolate when the time steps are larger than this duration. Thus, values will be blank or absent during dropouts. |
| Data Persistence |
The length of time a vector should continue to display after a data drop out occurs. |
Data File Interpolation
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Data Parameters | Sets the Interpolation Order for Vector and Scalar objects. Setting applies Interpolation Order/Interpolation Samples M1. The default value is 0. |
| Vehicle Ephemeris | Sets the Interpolation Order for Position/Ephemeris of Ownship and Associated State objects. Setting applies interpolation Order/Interpolation Samples M1. The default value is 1. |
| Vehicle Attitude | Sets the interpolation Order for Attitude of Ownship and Associated State objects. Setting applies Interpolation Order/Interpolation Samples M1. The default value is 1. |
Smooth Data
Including this declares that your file(s) contain smooth TSPI data. This currently only applies to ephemeris/position data. Smoothness of data impacts sampling characteristics of STK calculations such as Access, calculation components, lighting times, etc. Non-smooth data is sampled judiciously around each time at which sharp changes may occur. Non-smooth data takes longer to compute, though for smaller file sizes the difference is likely negligible. By default, this setting is Off.
Default Ownship TSPI Mapping
TETK will try to use these mappings in the order they are listed when importing files.
This option has been overcome by changes in the data importing; it remains for backwards compatibility.
Switching Preferences
Allows you to specify which model should be used when an Analysis object name begins with the prefix specified in “Starts With…” column. The model path is set by clicking the button. Rows are added or removed with and buttons
Default Units
Specify the default units TETK will use.
Data Directories
When loading TETK, VDFs that contain external data the source files will be extracted to this location. Make sure that you have write access to these directories. TETK will also check this directory for source files if they are not found in the scenario directory or in the location where the source files were when the scenario was saved.
Frame Maps
TETK uses these mappings in the order they are listed.
Unit Configuration
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Use Project Workgroup Directory | Enables you to share a common set of units for TETK. If selected, TETK uses the units directory specified in the Project Workgroup Directory. |
| Project Workgroup Directory |
This is the location that TETK will check for units. When first specifying this location, Sync Unit Write should be enabled, then create a new scenario to write the unit files out to the specified directory. |
| Sync Unit Read | This setting updates the unit files in the scenario directory to include any units from the Workgroup directory. This setting does not modify or delete existing units, but adds new units. This occurs on scenario load only. |
| Sync Unit Write |
The units in the workgroup directory will be updated to include any units in the scenario directory that are not in the workgroup directory. This occurs on scenario load after a sync read, and also whenever a new unit is added via the GUI. Any changes to the workgroup units are logged in the log folder. |
Track Promotion Suffix
When an MTO track from Tracks Workflows is promoted to an STK object, the object is named TrackName_SuffixName. For example, the default suffix is "_Measured," which means a track named "MyTrack" will be renamed to MyTrack_Measured when promoted to an STK object. You can update the suffix name in the Track Promotion Suffix field to meet your preferences.
TERC Import/Export Locations
When attempting to import/export layouts into the Test Asset Manager, this is the location to which the file picker opens.
Data Caching
When a new track is created, anything in the Track Mapping and Track Pick Mapping will be cached into RAM. The cache is saved to disk when the scenario is saved. The user can disable this in the preferences. The cache improves performance of:
- Coloring/Labeling by a mapped value
- Duplicating a track
- Filtering a track by mapped values
- Getting Min/Max when coloring
- Picking on track points
- Bringing up the track ID list
Default Element Name Format
Select if the default selection for the Element Name is Short Name or Long Name. Element Names are found on several screens in the TETK user interface.
