Swath Points
The location of the object's horizon on the central body surface that is to the side of the motion of the object, reported as left and right horizon points over time. For the Ground Elevation Envelope or Vehicle Half Angle Envelope swath types, the left/right swath point may not exist. If it does not, the point being reported at that time uses the Ground Elevation or Vehicle Half Angle swath setting as appropriate.
Data Provider Variant: Vehicle

Name | Description |
---|---|
Left Swath | The horizon point on the left side of the horizontal component of velocity vector. The velocity vector is measured as observed from the object's central body fixed coordinate system. The horizontal component is that component not along the detic zenith of the object. |
Right Swath | The horizon point on the right side of the horizontal component of velocity vector. The velocity vector is measured as observed from the object's central body fixed coordinate system. The horizontal component is that component not along the detic zenith of the object. |
Data Provider Elements
Name | Dimension | Type | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Time | Date | Real Number or Text | Time. |
Lat | Latitude | Real Number or Text | The detic latitude (i.e., angle between the detic subpoint's surface normal vector and the XY plane.). |
Lon | Longitude | Real Number or Text | The detic longitude (i.e., angle from the X-axis locating the projection of the detic subpoint's surface normal vector onto the XY plane.) Longitude increases in the direction found using the right-hand rule about the Z-axis. |
Rad | Distance | Real Number | The radius value (i.e. magnitude of the position vector). |
Elevation | Angle | Real Number or Text | Angle between the velocity vector and the local horizontal plane. The velocity vector is the velocity of the object, as observed in the object's central body fixed coordinate system. |
Half Angle | Angle | Real Number or Text | The angle between the surface normal at the detic subpoint of the object and the relative position between the object and swath point. |
Distance | Distance | Real Number | Distance between the center of the reference plane and the projection of the selected point onto the reference plane. |
PointType | Unitless | Text | The value is "Side" if the swath type is Ground Elevation, Vehicle Half Angle, or Swath Half Width. The value is "Envelope" if the swath type is Ground Elevation Envelope or Vehicle Half Angle Envelope if the left/right swath point exists; if it does not, the value is "Side" and the left/right swath point being reported at that time uses the Ground Elevation or Vehicle Half Angle setting (as appropriate) to compute its value. |
UTM Zone | Unitless | Text | The UTM Zone character indicator for the detic subpoint. Available only when the central body is Earth. |
UTM Easting | Distance | Real Number | The easting value within the UTM zone for the detic subpoint. Available only when the central body is Earth. |
UTM Northing | Distance | Real Number | The northing value within the UTM zone for the detic subpoint. Available only when the central body is Earth. |
MGRS Cell | Unitless | Text | The MGRS (Military Grid Reference System) code for the cell area containing the detic subpoint. Available only when the central body is Earth. |
