2D Graphics Global Attributes
2D Graphics attributes at the scenario and local levels enable you to select what to view and how to view it in the 2D Graphics window. The attributes fall into three categories:
Global - You can (or, in some cases, must) set these at the scenario level for all objects. You can override some global settings locally for specific objects.
Overridable - You can choose to have individual objects inherit these from the scenario or you can override these options in the object's properties. By definition, overridable attributes are global.
Local - You can only set these in the object's properties. See 2D Graphics Object Properties.
This topic describes using the scenario's 2D Graphics - Global Attributes properties page, which enables you to select global attributes that control what you view generally for STK objects in the 2D Graphics window. Display options take the form of check boxes that enable you choose whether or not STK displays a given attribute in the 2D Graphics window.
Overridable display options
The overridable options appear in the following table. You can set them on the scenario's 2D Graphics - Global Attributes page. You can choose to have objects inherit these settings or you can override these options in the object's properties.
Category | Option | Description |
---|---|---|
General | Show Labels | If selected, objects appear in the 2D Graphics window with text labels. |
Sensors | Show Sensors | If selected, sensor projections appear in the 2D Graphics window. |
Sensors also have some local options. |
||
Vehicles | Show Ground Tracks / Routes | If selected, ground tracks or routes appear. "Ground Tracks" apply to satellites, launch vehicles, and missiles. "Routes" apply to ships, aircraft, and ground vehicles. |
Show Orbits / Trajectories | This option affects only the perspective and orthographic map projections. If selected, satellite orbit tracks and launch vehicle and missile trajectories appear. This setting applies to satellites, launch vehicles, and missiles only. | |
Show Ground Markers / Route Marker | If selected, the marker for a vehicle appears. "Ground Markers" apply to satellites, launch vehicles, missiles, ships, aircraft, and ground vehicles. "Route Marker" is the local name of the field for ships, aircraft, and ground vehicles. | |
Show Orbit Markers / Trajectory Marker | This option affects only the perspective and orthographic map projections. If selected, the markers for satellites, launch vehicles, and missile trajectories appear. "Orbit Markers" refers to satellites, launch vehicles, and missiles. "Trajectory Marker" is the local name of the field for launch vehicles and missiles. | |
Show Elset Number | This applies only to SGP4 satellites with two or more two-line element sets. If selected, element set numbers for the satellites appear. | |
Area Targets | Show Centroids | If selected, the area target's centroid appears in the 2D Graphics window. |
Area targets also have some local options. |
||
Planets | Show Orbits | This option affects only the perspective and orthographic map projections. If selected, planet orbit tracks appear. |
Show Inertial Positions | This option affects only the perspective and orthographic map projections. If selected, the position of the planet appears in the 2D Graphics window in the Central Body Inertial (CBI) coordinate frame. | |
Show Position Labels | If selected, planet labels appear in the 2D Graphics window. | |
Show Subplanet Points | If selected, the point directly below the planet appears in the 2D Graphics window. | |
Show Subplanet Labels | If selected, a label appears at the location of each subplanet point in the 2D Graphics window. | |
Planets also have some local options. |
Other global display options
You can only set the following options at the scenario level; you cannot override them locally (in object properties).
If you select the Allow Animate Update option and the scenario contains many objects, the time it takes to update the 2D Graphics window may impact your work since all objects are reanimated for the current scenario time. In this case, consider clearing the Allow Animate Update check box.
