Graph Content Properties

You can define the contents and format of a new graph style or modify the contents and format of an existing style. The properties available for defining the content and format of data will depend on the data providers in the selected graph style.

To display a subset of data providers, replace the asterisk, which means show all, with a partial data provider name and click Filter. To display all data providers, clear the filter check box. The filter text field is not case-sensitive and supports * and ? wildcards.

All strip chart graphs use the Timeline XY type. This cannot be changed. The Timeline XY graph type displays data providers of the selected object relative to time. No options are available for the X axis because X equals time.

To customize a Graph Style, select Content in the Graph Style Properties browser and select one of the following graph types:

Graph Type	Description
Time XY	Displays data elements relative to time. No options are available for the X axis because X equals time.
XY	Displays an XY plot of selected data elements.
Interval	Displays time line intervals.
Polar	Displays a polar plot of data elements, where the center of the plot is 0 degrees.
Polar 90	Displays a polar plot of data elements for the selected object(s), where the center of the plot is 90 degrees.
Pie	Displays a pie chart representing the data elements for the selected object(s).
Interval Pie	Displays a pie chart with slices representing periods of access and no access along a time line
Cumulative Pie	Displays a pie chart with slices representing cumulative periods of access and no access.
Bar	Displays a bar graph.

Once you select a graph type, choose one or more of the following options:

To...	Follow this Procedure...
Assign data providers to an axis	Select one or more data providers and click the right arrow to copy the selected items to an axis. Data providers define the content of your graph.
Assign axis titles	Enter a text identifier in Axis Title fields.
Display an axis in Log10 instead of linear	Select Log10 to display data points along that axis as log10 instead of linear. This feature is only available for TimeXY and XY graphs and all strip charts. If the data contains any negative points or is equal to zero the log attribute is ignored, which can cause discontinuous graphs.
Change graph units of measure for a data provider	Select the data provider in the Axis list and click Units... The Units window that displays contains options for changing all applicable units of measure for the data selected. (Not available for all graph types.)
Set data options	Select the data provider in the Axis list and click Options... (Not available for all graph types.)
Set step size	Select 'Use ephemeris steps' or select 'Use step size' and enter a custom step size in the Step Size field.

You can double-click an item in the Data Providers list to copy it to the Contents list. You can also double-click an item in the Contents lists to remove it from the list.

Set Options for a Data Provider

To set options for a data provider, select the data provider in the Contents list and click Options... to display the Options window. The Options window contains the following fields that allow you to specify the type of information to be included and the format of the data provider. You can also change the graphical display of individual data elements for the style.

Option	Description
Title	Name of the data provider. When displaying multiple data providers titles must be unique or they will not display properly.
Color	The color of the connecting lines and data points in the graph.
Line Style	The style of the line connecting data points in the graph.
Line Width	The width of the line connecting data points in the graph.
Point Style	The style of the individual data points in the graph.
