Animation Using Spinning Sensors
If, after you set up a spinning sensor and animate the scenario, if you see that the sensor does not appear to be spinning, seems to be spinning backward, or cannot be seen at all, check to see if the spin rate and scenario animation time step are multiples of each other (e.g., a spin rate of 2 rpm and a time step of 60 seconds). This can cause a stroboscopic, or "wagon wheel" effect because the boresight position at each time during the animation is such that it appears to have one of the behaviors described above.
To correct this, try reducing the animation step size by a factor of 4 or 8 and check the behavior again. For smooth motion, set your animation step size equal to the spin rate divided by 30 to ensure a sufficient number of different boresight positions throughout the animation. If adjusting the animation step fails to resolve the problem, check parameters such as spin axis azimuth and elevation and the cone angle.
