SetAttitude Offset

Reset attitude to use the specified attitude offset

Syntax

SetAttitude <ObjectPath> Offset <OffsetValue>

Description

The SetAttitude Offset command sets the attitude offset of the specified vehicle based on the current attitude type. The <OffsetValue> is entered for the attitude profile set using a SetAttitude command.

The <OffsetValue> value is entered in degrees. The type of Offset being set is as follows:

<Offset> is automatically entered as... if the vehicle's attitude is defined as...
AlignOffset
  • Sun alignment with nadir constraint*
  • Sun alignment with ecliptic normal constraint*
  • Sun alignment with ECI Z axis constraint*
  • Sun alignment-occultation normal constraint*
ConstraintOffset
  • Nadir alignment with ECF velocity constraint*
  • Nadir alignment with ECI velocity constraint*
  • Nadir alignment with Sun constraint*
  • ECI velocity alignment nadir constraint
  • ECF velocity alignment radial constraint
  • Nadir alignment with orbit normal constraint*
NoChange
  • Yaw to nadir*
  • Spinning*
  • Spin about Nadir*
  • Spin about Sun vector*
  • Inertially fixed*

Note: *Applies to satellites only.

Example

To set the attitude offset of the Shuttle to 30_, with the shuttle having an attitude type of sun alignment with nadir constraint:

SetAttitude */Satellite/Shuttle Offset 30

Hint: For the example here, the Offset is entered as an AlignOffset since the satellite has been defined as having a Sun alignment with nadir constraint attitude type.
