Related Commands

Description

The Point External command allows you to load data from an external file to point a specified sensor instance.

When you use the External {PointType}, you must specify a "<FilePath.sp>" from which to retrieve data. The "<FilePath.sp>" must be the path to a properly formatted sensor pointing file. A sensor pointing file is an ASCII text file that is formatted for compatibility with STK and ends in a *.sp extension. For more information on creating and using sensor pointing files, refer to the Custom File Formats area of the STK Help system.

"<FilePath.sp>" can be the path to a file on your local drive or the path to a file on an SDF server. See Specifying Paths for "<SDFFilePath>" syntax information.

Example

To set the sensor Horizon to point based on data from the file MyScenPositionData.sp:

Point */Satellite/Shuttle/Sensor/Horizon External "c:\MyScTemp\MyScenPositionData.sp"
