Getting Started with STK Engine
This topic provides information to help you get started with STK Engine:

NoGraphics mode
Depending on your application requirements, consider using NoGraphics mode to eliminate unnecessary processing.
To use the STK Windows Media WebCast feature (exposed through the WinMedia3d Connect command), you must have the 64-bit version of the VMWCore DLL. This DLL is not installed by default with the operating system. However, you can obtain it for free through an MSDN download. You need to download and install the Microsoft Windows Media Format 9.5 Software Development Kit (https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/ ).
Install STK Engine
You can install STK Engine from the STK Engine Resources DVD or ZIP file. In order to install STK Engine Resources, you must be an administrator or have elevated permission for the computer on which STK is being installed.
- Insert the STK Engine Resources DVD or unzip the STK Engine Resources ZIP file.
- Open the setup.exe file. If your computer has the autorun option enabled, the STK installer will load automatically upon inserting the STK Engine Resources DVD into the computer's DVD drive.
- Click to proceed with the installation process.
Obtain and registering AGI licenses
To run STK Engine, you must have access to a server that has one or more STK licenses. The server must use the Ansys License Manager, powered by FlexNet Manager, to serve your license, whether locally or from a network. All STK licenses come with an stk_engine_runtime license for STK Engine so that you can develop, deploy, and run STK/X engine-based applications. Thus, you can use any STK license for either the Desktop application or STK Engine.
