Sensor Properties

Spatial Properties

Defines the spatial properties for the selected band as described below.

Input. The Spatial Properties Input mode enables you to specify which two spatial parameters are inputs and will calculate the third. The input options are: Field of view and Number of pixels, Number of pixels and Detector pitch, and Field of view and Detector pitch.

Auto Rebalance Parameters. If enabled, EOIR will re-balance the parameters to stay within the valid parameter limits. If disabled, EOIR will warn you when the settings would cause a calculation that is outside the valid parameter range.

Field of View. The horizontal and vertical angles specify the full angular extent of the sensor field of view (FOV).

Horizontal. Angular extent of the horizontal field of view.

Vertical. Angular extent of the vertical field of view.

Number of Pixels. Number of sensor pixels in the horizontal and vertical directions. The number of pixels is limited to 1,000-by-1,000 to prevent an out of memory issue. All images are oversampled four times spatially and then multiplied by the number of spectral bands (defaulting to 6). For example, a 1k-by-1k image will expand to roughly the equivalent of a 9,798-by-9,798 pixel image in oversampled space.

If you are using a high-memory machine, you can set the environment variable AGI_EOIR_HIGH_MEMORY to create 5,000-by-5,000 pixels but may risk memory issues on limited machines.

Horizontal. Number of sensor pixels comprising the field of view in the horizontal direction.

Vertical. Number of sensor pixels comprising the field of view in the vertical direction.

The sensor model uses an ideal spatial response which is unity within the FOV and zero outside the FOV. Each sensor pixel is sampled with four samples in each direction, for a total of 16 samples per sensor pixel.

Related Detector Parameters. The horizontal and vertical physical dimensions of a pixel at the focal plane.

Horiz Pixel Pitch. The physical horizontal dimension of a pixel at the focal plane.

Vertical Pixel Pitch. The physical vertical dimension of a pixel at the focal plane.

Instantaneous Field of View. Angular extent of a single pixel in the horizontal and vertical directions.

Horizontal. Angular extent of a single pixel in the horizontal direction

Vertical. Angular extent of a single pixel in the vertical direction
