MCS Segments

The following segments are available for constructing a Mission Control Sequence:

Initial State Launch Follow Maneuver
Propagate Hold Sequence Backward Sequence
Target Sequence Update Return Stop

The Component Browser allows you to duplicate these segments and create new ones.

Creating Segment Components from the MCS

You can create a segment component from any segment in the MCS or an Automatic Sequence by selecting that segment and then clicking Add to Component Browser () on the MCS Toolbar. If a segment with the same name already exists in the Component Browser, then the new segment will be renamed automatically to avoid the conflict.

Editing Sequence, Backward Sequence, and Target Sequence Components

Since components are independent of the MCS or Automatic Sequence Browser of a specific Astrogator satellite object, you cannot edit the segments that they contain in the same way that you normally would. Instead, you can edit the segments within a Sequence, Backward Sequence, or Target Sequence component by clicking the Edit segments... button in the component's properties window, which will open the Edit segments window. The Edit segments window is a scaled-down version of the Mission Control Sequence window that provides the same toolbar buttons for inserting, removing and editing MCS segments as are found on the MCS toolbar. As in the Mission Control Sequence window, the segments of the sequence component are displayed on the left, beneath the toolbar, and the properties of the currently selected segment are displayed on the right. You can click Results... to add components to segments just as in the Mission Control Sequence window. When you are finished editing the segments of the sequence component, click OK to return to its properties window.
