Scalable Network Modeling Interface Network Interface
You can define one or more network interfaces for each node in the hierarchy folder. A network interface is a connection instance between a transmit antenna and a receive antenna. A node requires one interface for each network connection instance.
To define a network interface for a network node, right-click the node and select Add>Network Interface. Make the following selections on the Add Interface window and click OK.
Interface Name. Name of network interface. The default name is interface<no.>.
Transmit Antenna. There are two choices for selecting an antenna used for transmitting data in a particular connection instance:
- Use an antenna that exists on the node by selecting an antenna from the list.
- Add a new antenna to the node. Click the Instance Name field, and enter a new name. The newly created antenna is displayed under the appropriate node in the STK Object Browser.
To place the transmit antenna on a sensor, select Place on sensor and select a sensor from list or add a new sensor. A newly created sensor, with an attached antenna, is displayed under the appropriate node in the STK Object Browser.
Receive Antenna. There are three choices for selecting an antenna used for receiving data in a particular connection instance:
- Use the same antenna for transmitting and receiving. Select Use Transmit Antenna for Receive.
- Select an antenna that exists on the node. Clear Use Transmit Antenna for Receive and select an antenna from the list.
- Add a new antenna to the node. Clear Use Transmit Antenna for Receive, click the Instance Name field, and enter a new name. The newly created antenna is displayed under the appropriate node in the STK Object Browser.
To place the receive antenna on a sensor, select Place on sensor and select a sensor from list or add a new sensor. A newly created sensor, with an attached antenna, is displayed under the appropriate node in the STK Object Browser.
