SAR Constraints with Jamming

The Radar SAR Jamming category of a radar's Constraints - Active properties enable you to take account of the effects of jamming in connection with several SAR Constraints. Like their counterparts, you can use these constraints to compute an object's Access visibilities and also provide new Figures of Merit for Coverage and Attitude Coverage.

To isolate the effects of jamming, you can set a given constraint with jamming and its counterpart without jamming. Examples would be Single Pulse S/(N+J) and Single Pulse SNR (for Search/Track) or S/(N+J) and SNR (for SAR). If there is no jamming present (or if jamming is not being computed), of course, the results for each constraint in the pair will be identical.

Also, you can set jamming-to-signal ratio constraints for SAR (SAR J/S) radars.

The following constraints are available for Radar SAR Jamming:

Except for Sigma N (below), SAR constraints are available only if SAR mode is enabled in the radar's Basic properties (SAR page).

C/(N + J) Clutter-to-(noise plus jamming) ratio for a SAR radar
OrthoPol C/(N + J) Clutter-to-(noise plus jamming) ratio for the orthogonal polarization channel of a SAR radar
OrthoPol S/(C + N + J) Signal-to-(clutter plus noise plus jamming) ratio for the orthogonal polarization channel of a SAR radar
OrthoPol S/(N + J) Signal-to-(noise plus jamming) ratio for the orthogonal polarization channel of a SAR radar
S/(C + N + J) Signal-to-(clutter plus noise plus jamming) ratio for a SAR radar
S/(N + J) Signal-to-(noise plus jammimng) ratio for a SAR radar
SAR J/S Jamming-to-signal ratio for a SAR radar
