Scalable Network Modeling Interface for STK Communications
This STK Communications interface offers an enhanced solution for communications network modeling by introducing off-the-shelf interoperability with Scalable Network Modeling Interface, an industry-recognized network modeling and simulation tool. The Scalable Network Modeling Interface combines network performance evaluation from Scalable Network Modeling Interface with the platform mobility models, wireless link calculations and mission visualization environment of STK, making it easier to:
- Create a realistic scenario for communications network modeling.
- Improve the fidelity of physical layer calculations.
- Clarify the effects of network performance on a mission.
The Scalable Network Modeling Interface allows you to incorporate the following STK models in the Scalable Network Modeling Interface analysis:
- All STK antenna models. STK provides over 50 antenna models. Also, STK allows you to use custom antenna models.
- All STK propagation loss models, including rain loss models, atmospheric absorption models, urban and terrestrial models, cloud and fog models, and custom loss models.
- All antenna constraints.
There are two products inside the Scalable Network Modeling Interface:
- QualNet Network Simulation Software - A planning, testing, and training tool that "mimics" the behavior of real communication networks.
- EXata Network Emulator Software- A network emulator that allows you to evaluate on-the-move communication networks faster and with more realism than any other tool.
To find out what versions of these products are compatable with your version of STK, check out the Supplemental Capabilities page.
The Scalable Network Modeling Interface for STK Communications, which requires an STK Communications capability to use, is installed from the Scalable Network Modeling Interface install medium to your STK install area.
Accessing the Scalable Network Modeling Interface Toolbar
The Scalable Network Modeling Interface toolbar is used to access the Scalable Network Modeling Interface, run experiments, and display statistical charts. To display the Scalable Network Modeling Interface toolbar, select Toolbars->Scalable Network Modeling Interface from the View menu. Descriptions of the toolbar buttons follow.
