Volumetric 3D Graphics Volume

The Volumetric 3D Graphics Volume page is used to show the following:

  • Active grid points. All active grid points are included when evaluating volumetric data.
  • Spatial Calculation Levels. These levels represent straight line distances from the parent object.

Changes are immediately reflected in the 3D graphics window if Immediately update graphics is selected.

Active Grid Points

Active Grid Point options are:

Option Description
Show Active/Inactive Boundary Shows the interpolated boundary surfaces separating grid points that satisfy the spatial condition from those that do not using the color and translucency selected.
Show Active/Inactive Fill Shows whether each grid point satisfies the spatial condition in the color and translucency selected.

Spatial Calculation Levels

Spatial Calculation Level options are:

Option Description
Show Boundary Levels

Shows interpolated color-coded surfaces based on how scalar data on grid points fits within multiple threshold levels. Each surface is displayed at locations where values interpolated from neighboring grid points match the selected threshold and is assigned its color accordingly.

To add a new level, click Insert One Value, and specify its color and translucency.

To add a color ramp, click Insert Evenly Spaced Values..., enter ramp parameters and colors, and click Create Values.

To remove levels, select one or more levels and click Remove Value(s).

Show Fill Levels

Shows color-coded volumes based on how scalar data on grid points fits within multiple threshold levels. Each fill occupies volume where values fall between its specified level and the level immediately above it.

To add a new level, click Insert One Value, and specify its color and translucency.

To add a color ramp, click Insert Evenly Spaced Values..., enter ramp parameters and colors, and click Create Values.

To remove levels, select one or more levels and click Remove Value(s).
