EOIR Spectral Properties

When you choose EOIR as the Sensor Type on the Basic - Definitions page of a sensor's properties, you can select the Spectral tab to specify the following spectral properties for the selected band:

Property Description
Spectral Band Edge Wavelengths

Provide the following values:

  • Low is the shortest wavelength that the sensor responds to. Enter a wavelength, in um, that is at least 1 nanometer less than the High value. The default is 0.40 um.
  • High is the longest wavelength that the sensor responds to. Enter a wavelength, in um, that is at least 1 nanometer greater than the Low value. The default is 0.70 um.
Number of Intervals

Enter the number of divisions used in calculations between Low and High wavelengths. Larger numbers generally produce more accurate results but take longer to calculate. See the diagram below for an illustration of this parameter.

Spectral Shape

Choose one of the following options from the shortcut menu:

  • Provide System Response - This enables you to specify an overall band spectral response.
  • Use Optical and Radiometric Response - Choosing this defaults the spectral shape to the individual optical transmission and quantum efficiency spectral characteristics.
Relative Spectral Response File If you choose Provide System Response for Spectral Shape, then click the ellipsis here to browse to and select an SRF-formatted file that specifies the overall relative spectral response for this band. EOIR will linearly interpolate this to the special range and samples specified in the other spectral properties.
RSR Units Use the shortcut menu to choose whether the relative spectral response values are in energy units or quantum units.
