MCS Segments

MCS segments are the building blocks of an Astrogator space mission. You can use the Component Browser to create a custom segment by duplicating a segment component.

Creating Segment Components from the MCS

You can create a segment component from any segment in the MCS or an Automatic Sequence by selecting it and then clicking on the MCS Toolbar. If a segment with the same name already exists in the Component Browser, then the new segment will be renamed automatically to avoid the conflict.

Editing Sequence, Backward Sequence, and Target Sequence Components

Since sequence components are independent of the MCS or Automatic Sequence Browser of a specific Astrogator satellite object, you cannot edit their segments in the usual way. Instead, to edit the segments within a Sequence, Backward Sequence, or Target Sequence component, click Edit segments... in the component's properties dialog box to open the Edit Segments dialog box.

The Edit Segments dialog box resembles the Mission Control Sequence window. It provides the same toolbar buttons for inserting, removing and editing MCS segments as the MCS toolbar. The segments of the sequence component are displayed in the left pane, under the toolbar. The properties of the selected segment are displayed in the right pane.
