Standard Installation and Upgrade Instructions

Read the steps below before downloading the Ansys Systems Tool Kit® (STK®) application. If you encounter issues during this process, please contact please contact AGI Technical Support.

Prerequisites

Before proceeding, ensure the following:

  • You have access to the AGI downloads page or the STK application installation DVD.

  • If you do not already have an agi.com account, please first create an agi.com account.

  • You have administrative permissions to install software on your computer.

Installing the STK application

  1. Download your desired STK product or insert the applicable STK application installation DVD(s) into your computer.

    2. STK Premium and STK Enterprise require multiple downloads or DVDs.

  2. If installing from a DVD and AutoRun is not enabled, run install.exe. Otherwise, skip to the next step.
  3. Locate the downloaded .zip file containing the Ansys STK installer. Right-click the file and select Extract All, then follow the prompts to unzip the contents to a folder.
  4. Open the extracted folder and locate the file named install.exe. Double-click install.exe to begin the installation process.
  5. Complete the steps in the AGI Software Installer. The install wizard will prompt you through installing the software you have selected. Upon completing the steps in the install wizard, you are returned to the AGI Software Installer.
  6. To verify that your computer can run the STK application 3D graphics, click Run STK Graphics Card Test... .
  7. Click Finish to close the AGI Software Installer.

Upgrading the STK application

If you currently have the STK application installed, you may upgrade to a newer version. Follow the instructions in the Installing STK section in this topic.

When upgrading to a newer version of the STK application, the AGI Software Installer will detect any STK products that you already have installed and those products will be selected. You cannot clear the selection of these products, as they will be upgraded along with the STK application. The AGI Software Installer will enable you to select additional products that were not previously installed.

You cannot downgrade to a previous minor version of the STK application. If you wish to install an earlier version of the STK application, please uninstall the current version, including all related STK products and AGI Support Tools, and then follow the instructions in the Installing STK section in this topic.
