Advanced Time Properties

You can set Advanced Time Properties for all styles, selected styles, or a single style. Many of the styles contain data providers that include time-dependent data. You can limit the time intervals for data reporting purposes and control the time step without changing the scenario or object time parameters. The options available will depend on the data provider you are using.

To include time intervals in the report for easy reference, select Write Intervals To Report.

  • You cannot set time intervals or step sizes for a single line or element.
  • Apply Intervals to All Sections and Write Intervals to Report options are not available for graph styles.
  • If you generate data using an extremely small Step Size over a long period of time, the time STK requires to generate the report or graph is significantly increased.
  • If you generate data with a step size of 1 second and the report spans a time period when a leap second occurs, the report looks like the National Institute of Standards and Technology's (NIST) report for leap seconds.

Setting Advanced Time Properties for a Single Style

If you are setting advanced time properties for a single style, the contents of the style, including sections, lines, and data providers, are listed under Style Contents.

To set time parameters:

  1. Under Style Contents, select Apply Values To All Sections or clear Apply Values To All Sections and select a section for setting time limits. The Start and Stop Times or time components currently set for that report style or section appear under Time Properties.
  2. Select Define Intervals to create or modify the interval list:
    • Use the Add, Remove, Remove All buttons to add and delete intervals.
    • Use the Up and Down arrows to change the order of the intervals.
    • To modify a start or stop time, double-click it and enter a new time.
    • Use the Load.. button to load start and stop times from an external list file (*.int).
    • Use the Import.. button to import start and stop times from an STK Analysis Workbench Time interval component.
  3. Select Use Time Components to:
    • Specify Times using the Time Interval Control, or
    • Select a Custom Interval List from the Select Interval List window, or
    • Select a Custom Time from the Select Time Array window.
  4. Select a Step Size:
    • Use default time points. Data is reported/graphed at the actual ephemeris times, if ephemeris data exists for the object; otherwise data is reported/graphed at the default time steps.
    • Use step size/time bound. Sets the step size or Time Bound to be used for reporting purposes.

Setting Advanced Time Properties for All Styles or Selected Styles

If you are setting advanced time properties for all styles or selected styles, you cannot set time intervals for a single style or a section in a style. The advanced time properties that you set for all styles or selected styles will be applied to all time dependent styles that have not had advanced time properties set at the single style level.

To set time parameters for the selected styles or all styles:

  1. Create or modify the interval list:
    • Use the Add, Remove, Remove All buttons to add and delete intervals.
    • Use the Up and Down arrows to change the order of the intervals.
    • To modify a start or stop time, double-click it and enter a new time.
    • Use the Load.. button to load start and stop times from an external list file (*.int).
  2. Select a Step Size:
    • Use default time points. Data is reported/graphed at times of actual ephemeris. This option is useful for external ephemeris.
    • Use step size/time bound. Sets the Step Size or Time Bound to be used for reporting purposes.
