3D Graphics Properties for STK Objects - Route

Use to define route properties for an aircraft, ship, or ground vehicle.

Orbit Coordinate Frame. Display field. Contains the name of the coordinate frame in which the selected vehicle is drawn.

Leading/Trailing

Inherit From 2D Graphics. If selected, route properties set for 2D graphics are used in the 3D graphics window. If not selected, route properties for the 3D graphics window are used.

Route

Lead Type. Defines the display of the leading portion of a vehicle's tracks. (The leading portion begins at the vehicle's present position and moves forward half the span of its ephemeris.)

Trail Type. Defines the display of the trailing portion of vehicle's track. (The trailing portion begins at the vehicle's present position and moves backward half the span of the vehicle's ephemeris.)

Values for Lead Type or Trail Type are:

  • Time. Specifies the amount of time (in seconds) that the leading or trailing portion is displayed.
  • Percent. Indicates the percentage of the leading portion or trailing portion that is displayed.
  • Quarter. Displays one quarter of the leading or trailing portion.
  • Half. Displays one half of the leading or trailing portion.
  • Full. Displays the entire leading or trailing portion.
  • All. Displays the track spanning the entire vehicle ephemeris.
  • None. Does not display the leading or trailing portion.
  • Current Interval. Display the leading or trailing portion of the vehicle's track for the current animation time interval.
  • Same As Lead option. Uses the Lead Type value for Trail Type.
The Always Draw Route over Central Body Surface check box is selected by default. When selected, route lines are drawn above the central body texture, avoiding a problem in which route lines sometimes break up when viewed at oblique angles.

Waypoint Markers

The Waypoint Markers table displays the turn marker information for the selected route. Waypoint Markers must be selected to show on the 2D Graphics - Route page before they will be displayed in the 3D Graphics window.

Existing Waypoints/New Waypoints. Displays existing waypoint attributes or new waypoint default attributes for you to edit.

Marker/ Image File. Specifies the image used to mark waypoints. Select either an image from the Marker drop-down list or click to specify an image file.

Transparent. Uses the color of the lower left pixel of the image as the transparent color if an image file is being used. All pixels in the image of that color are not drawn.

Scale. Specifies the absolute scaling value for the object. Use the slider to modify the value. The model scale is an exponential scale.

Change button. For Existing Waypoints: click to update the selected items in the Waypoint Markers table with any marker changes made. For New Waypoints: click to use the specified marker when adding new waypoints to the 3D Graphics window.
