Managing View Paths

Use the View Path Editor () to maintain view paths created using an earlier version of STK. Starting with STK 6.0, the Camera Control tool replaces the View Path Editor for creating view paths (now called camera paths).

The Path table on the View Path Editor screen shows a summary of all available view paths and their display attributes. You can:

Add

  1. Click New in the Path area. A new view path is created with a default name of ViewPath followed by a sequential identifier that indicates the number of unnamed view paths in the table (e.g., ViewPath0, ViewPath1, ViewPath2, etc.).
  2. Add the key frames that will make up the view path.
  3. Customize the display of the new view path using the path attributes.

Rename

  1. Double-click the name of the View Path to make it editable.
  2. Edit the name of the view by typing directly in the table field.
  3. Click OK or Apply.

Duplicate

If you have a situation that requires more than one view path that are similar, duplicating and editing an existing view path may save you some time.

  1. Select the view path that you want to duplicate in the Path table.
  2. Click Duplicate. A new view path is created using the name of the path that was duplicated followed by the word Copy and a sequential identifier that indicates the number of unnamed copies of that path (e.g., ViewPath0Copy0 or ViewPath1Copy0).
  3. Select the newly created view path from the Path table. You can:
  4. When you finish, click OK or Apply to see your changes in the 3D window.

If you do not change any of the key frames or path attributes of a duplicated path, it will not be visible in the 3D window. The two paths will be identical making their displays overlap and appear to be one path.

Delete

  1. Select the view path of interest in the table.
  2. Click Delete in the Path area.
