Working with Imagery

Creating Compatible Image Files

STK utilizes JPEG 2000 (.jp2) and an AGI proprietary file (.pdttx) for the processing and rendering of imagery in the 3D Graphics window.

Use the Imagery and Terrain Converter to convert images to a format that can be displayed in STK.

Adding Imagery to the 3D Graphics Window

You can add imagery to a globe with the Globe Manager, depending on the type of image, or by dragging and dropping .jp2 or .pdttx files directly into the 3D Graphics window.

You can drag and drop a .jp2 file into the 3D Graphics windows. However, this file must be in a geographic WGS84 projection. If it is not, you need to convert this image to either a geographic WGS84 .jp2 or .pdttx file using the Imagery and Terrain Converter.
