Pareto Designs

In general, the solution to multi-objective optimization problems is a family of designs that is often referred to as the Pareto-optimal set. A Pareto set is defined as feasible designs that are not inferior in all objectives to any other designs. Each design in the Pareto-optimal set have the property that no other design can be found that is better in all objectives. A design is referred to as non-optimal (dominated) when another design can be found that has better values for all objectives.
