GIS Pattern

Export the footprint of a sensor to a shapefile

Syntax

GIS <ScenarioPath> Pattern "<ShapefilePath>" <SensorObjectPath>

Description

The Pattern GIS command allows you to export the shape of a sensor's footprint (or pattern) to a GIS-compatible shapefile. Data points defining the shape of the sensor footprint are exported to a shapefile. The "<ShapefilePath>" is the full directory and path to the shapefile you wish to create. You also need to specify the object from which you wish to export data using the <SensorObjectPath> parameter.

"<ShapefilePath>" can be the path to a file on your local drive or the path to a file on an SDF server. See Specifying Paths for "<SDFFilePath>" syntax information.

The sensor's footprint (or pattern) must be visible in the 2D or 3D window in order for the shapefile to be created.

Examples

To export the footprint of the Horizon sensor to a shapefile:

GIS * Pattern "C:\stk\GIS\HorizonPattern.shp" */Satellite/Shuttle/Sensor/Horizon
