SetState

Set the state of a vehicle using propagator, coordinates or file.

Syntax

SetState <VehiclePath> {Method} <Parameters>

Description

The SetState command can be used to define a vehicle's orbit, trajectory or path, including coordinate system, orbital elements and time parameters.

The valid values for {Method} are listed in the table below, along with a link to a description of the <Parameters> and examples for that method.

{Method} Valid Vehicles Description
11Parameter Satellite Define the satellite using an 11-Parameter file. See SetState 11Parameter for <Parameters>
Cartesian Satellite, Missile Define a satellite or missile using cartesian coordinates. See SetState Cartesian for <Parameters>
Classical Satellite, Missile Define a satellite or missile using classical coordinates. See SetState Classical for <Parameters>
Equi Satellite, Missile Define a satellite or missile using equinoctial coordinates. See SetState Equi for <Parameters>
FromFile Any Define the vehicle using an external ephemeris file. See SetState FromFile for <Parameters>
GPS Satellite Define the orbit state of a satellite from a GPS file. See SetState GPS for <Parameters>
MixedSpherical Satellite, Missile Define a satellite or missile using mixed spherical coordinates. See SetState MixedSpherical for <Parameters>
SGP4 Satellite Define the satellite using the SGP4 propagator. See SetState SGP4 (Satellites) for <Parameters>
SimpleAscent Launch Vehicle Set the trajectory of a launch vehicle using the simple ascent propagator. See SetState SimpleAscent (Launch Vehicle) for <Parameters>
SP3 Satellite Define the satellite using sp3 files. See SetState SP3 for <Parameters>
SPICE Satellite Define the satellite using SPICE bsp files. See SetState SPICE for <Parameters>
Spherical Satellite, Missile Define a satellite or missile using spherical coordinates. See SetState Spherical for <Parameters>
TLE Satellite Set the orbit state of a satellite using a two-line element set. See SetState TLE (Satellites) for <Parameters>

See SetState (Missile) for more information on setting the trajectory of a missile using the TwoBody propagator.

See SetStateIgnoreCB to set the orbit state of a vehicle, ignoring propagation intersections with the central body.

See SetPropSpecific to set data specific to a propagator.
